CB77 - No return to low throttle ?

Post by djohns » Fri Mar 08, 2024 12:35 pm

On the subject of advance problems. My CB77 sometimes fails to return to low throttle during shifting, scary in traffic! Starts on first button push and idles well. After warming up if given throttle it sometimes continues to rev ( tach out for repair) high. Turning the key off and immediately restarting and its back at idle. Have checked the carb slides when not running, sticking my finger in the throats, and they are down on the idle screw. Cycle throttle numerous times with same result. I don’t think they are sticking. About 100 miles since complete overhaul. Rotating the points cam is difficult and the springs don’t snap it back sharply like my Dream. Comments are welcomed.
