Mirror thread size?

Post by GregMcN » Sun Jul 09, 2017 1:08 am

Hi
Would just like to introduce myself to the forum and start with a simple question. I am Greg based in North East England. I have just acquired a CB77. There are engine/running issues that I need to sort but as a starting point there are no mirrors but noticed the fittings have different threads so please can someone tell me what size threads the mirrors are?
Thanks Greg

Welcome, Greg.

Early M8, later M10.

CB77 mirrors

Thanks G Man. I have one lever mount that is 7mm and the other is about 11mm so looks like neither of them are original!

Sounds like you might be measuring the inside dimeter of the threads, there.

Try an M8 bolt in the 7mm one.

cb77 mirrors

Post by Merz64cb77 » Tue Jul 11, 2017 8:27 pm

Hi Greg
I have the exact same issue. The clutch perch is 10mm but the brake perch is 8mm. My hawk is also a 67'.

I purchased a perch from eBay but the threaded hole for the mirror had a sleeve in it. If you buy from eBay be sure to confirm the thread size.

If you re looking for new repro perches tim at classic honda restoration had a nice set of 8mm.

Really? I thought the first 10mm was the 350. never seen a 305 with 10mm but that doesn't mean I have seen it all. inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks
Randy
