My CB77 Superhawk 305

Post by DerekSuperhawk305 » Tue Jan 07, 2020 4:09 pm

Thought that I had posted here but...but, looks like I forgot...it was on FB 305 Honda
So here's a bit of background..

Here is my 1966 Honda Superhawk 305...my late uncle's bike last plated in 1974 and pulled out of the basement in 2018. He had it painted "sparkle green", bought the matching seat cover and added the tall handlebars (you now that era...peace)...this was done when he first bought it new. It's in excellent condition considering it did not see the light of day for 44 years thanks to the dry basement storage !! Everything is free moving, paint and chrome are very nice !! As kids, we all took our turns sneaking down to the basement to sit on it and make motorcycle noises...I am very happy that I was able to get it and I will be leaving it "as is" in uncle Johnny's memory. The goal is to just clean it up, make it safe and mechanically reliable. Missing a few bits which I will ask about later. I HOPE ! ...to get started on this bike soon...Cheers!

A great bike, good luck with the restoration, don't overdo it!

Lucky you!

Looks pretty tidy. The generator cover and kickstarter gear do come up but they are both parts that got easily damaged so are now rare items in good condition.

I have a good workshop so I was able to make some kickstart gears out of the matching pinion (less hard to get) and a CB250 (I think) kickstart shaft. It took a bit of machining and welding and isn't really an economic solution for most people.
