As far as I know there were two different front fender types used on the CL77 during production. The earlier type had 8 holes in it due to a fork shaped center support. The later type had 6 holes with a single center support. I am wondering if anyone has successfully modified the earlier 8 hole design to mount on a later model that should have the 6 hole fender? This is the type of fender that I’m contemplating trying to modify.

I’d appreciate any info on this if anyone tried this before and got it to work and if so is it worth the effort?

cl77 fender
Weld the forward set of holes shut.............grind to flush.........paint...........it will fit the later brace.
If you are careful.........you could braze the holes or use J-B Weld

Re: CL77 front fender interchangeability
So the only difference is the location and number of holes in the fender for the bracket/stay?
