Light Bulbs for Speedometer

Post by KJB » Tue Nov 15, 2011 9:55 pm

Both light bulbs in my speedometer are burned out. I think one is for the speedometer and one is the high beam indicator. Are these standard bulbs and readily available?

Not absolutely sure which one but they are a low wattage 12v bayonet fit bulb as BA9 or BA7 on this page....

Should be able to find something similar where you are in an auto parts store.

Thank you G-Man. They do look very similar to the BA9 and BA7. One looks like it might have a reflector lens unless it just gets that way after it burns out. Using a magnifying glass I can read the number on the clear one. It says Stanley 12V3WL. I'll check out the auto parts store.

The coating you describe is indeed produced as the bulb blows. The stuff has to go somewhere and ends up on the inside of the glass.

Good luck with your search.

I did find bulbs at the local Bumper to Bumper auto parts store. Wagner minature bulbs part # WAG 1445 works fine. Thanks for the help.
