CL77 Gear Change Cover

Post by oldjapanesebikes » Wed Feb 29, 2012 6:23 pm

I realise this has been talked about previously, but I was wondering whether anyone had figured out what the part number for the original gear change lever cover was or a potential source for a replacement ? The one on mine is still in reasonable shape but I was thinking that before it falls apart I'd like to replace it.

Here are a couple of photos.

Looking at the lever end, there is no sign of wear or discolouration at all, which leads me to think this cover has been on since the bike was new.

shift lever

Scram64,
Although the shifter came stock as a bare metal piece, that rubber cover would fit nicely over the toe end and sure would save wear and tear on the boot. Thanks for the tip,
Rusty

Rusty, I see the rubber tips at swap meets, they also fit British bikes.
I thought the Scrambler guys were being creative. Scram64

Thanks - he only sells to the US which is annoying, but I have sent him a note.

It does look to be very similar.

Just bought one on eBay. $3 with free shipping. I realize it won't be original but since I normally wear running shoes when riding, the wear and tear on my toes will be worth it. Thanks for the tip.
