Rims

Post by thepunisher2007 » Fri Oct 13, 2017 2:27 pm

Hi All

I need to replace the front rim on my early CL77 due to flat spot but finding good ones is becoming more tricky over here in the UK (IE there seam to be none). Is there any reason why I cant use the rim of an early rear? is there really enough of a difference to make it an issue as long as the Tyre fits and i use the original front spokes?as there both 19inch i cant see the problem

Also is there any reason a later model rim front or rear wouldn't fit?

its only the rim i need I have tons of spare spokes and the hub is good

any advice apricates

Cheer Mike

Hi Mike

I may have a spare, re-chromed one. I'll let you know, but I think my spares are CL72 whuch will have the wrong spoke angles.

thanks. it's and early 77 1965 so 72 would be right. i took the wheels i'm using at the min off cl72 i thought they where in perfect condition until i noticed the flare spot.

is it safe to assume the later model rims won't fit as per your mention of spoke angles?

OK - I definitely have a small brake rim going spare. Was going to get it re-chromed but you could have it as-is if you wish......

Will get some pics for you.
