Wire routing on CL77 tail light? Help

Does the tail light wiring come outside the fender and through the wire loop welded onto the grab rail?

Doesn't seem to make sense to me if it does.

Any pic appreciated.

Yes, two loops is correct. I ran mine thru a piece of silver plastic sleeving to give the wires a little more protection.

On my CL77-105xxxx the wiring goes through a hole in the base of the t/l bracket into the bottom of the fender. There's two wire clips under the fender that lead to a hole on the right side of the fender. Then the wires go thru the two wire loops on the chrome fender loop and under the seat to the harness connectors. I think there should be a grommet in the fender holes. Sorry I waited so long to reply but I've been out of town all week and couldn't look at the bike. THANKS to this forum for all the help I've gotten. Stan

Mines almost the same as your Briar, no grommit either, but I suppose you could put one if ya can find one small enough and yet have the two wires pass through. No extra hole in my fender though. My wires come outta the tail lamp bracket, through the fender, then exit at the second underside clip nearest the grabrail/fender bolt, then to the first steel loop etc. I just wrapped a little extra black tape on the wires to bush it at that passage point at the tail light bracket.

I just looked at my '67 with chrome fenders. Wire comes along frame from the connectors on the right, goes thru the two loops in the handrail, then under the edge of the fender and up thru a hole under the taillight. I did put a grommet in that hole.
