This guide worked like a charm. Only thing is my light didnt work. so i used a meter, and everytime I turned it to the "F" it clicked just before. so i adjusted it and i can honestly say my Dream is running better than it had. I also did a spark plug change along with this guide as i would think anyone would.
thanks again for the guide

Points' gapping adjustment should be carried out when the fibre heel of the points is on the highest lobe(s) of the cam -- or in line with the scribe mark on the end of the points' camshaft. Then adjust the timing so that, at the exact moment they open then the mark 'F' is in line with the pointer; the test light method, as previously delineated by paperslammer, is ideal for static setup. A timing strobe light should be employed after static setup to ensure that maximum advance, when the engine is revved-and-held higher in the range, does not exceed the 45-48º timing marks scribed c/w of the 'T' & 'F' marks on the alternator rotor.kamin1772 wrote:....... I cleaned the points with an sos pad, and adjusted them the old fashioned way by measuring the gap on fire. Put everything back together, it ran great for a few miles, then died. Did some investigating, and found no spark. Went through and checked everything, and it all seemed great. I figured it had to be a bad component, like the coil or something. I almost broke down and bought a new everything, and found this post. I tried it out, and found that my light stayed on, no matter where the crank was. I was stumped until i saw that the two points weren't meeting perfectly. It was just the smalliest little bit off, like almost microscopic, but enough to make a bad connection. A little tweak with a screwdriver and I was back in business.
Sorry some responses are late, FWIW; I've been away.
Great Instructions
This was a great help on my CB160. At first the light was coming when I passed the F mark the I readjusted the points and the light came on when I reached F mark. It fired up and ran great. So many thanks
