1964 Dream?

Post by mikescottt » Sun May 08, 2005 6:37 pm

I just bought a Honda Dream and looking forward to restoring it.
Does anyone know how to find out the year it was made? The Pink slip has 0000 Where the year should be.
Is it possible to figure out if the motor is original to the frame?

The Engine # is CA77E-402.539
The Frame # is CA78402471

Yo bro, I got a 64' myself. It has been in the garage for 2 years and I can't remember where the frame number is. Where is yours at? Thanks...J.

mikescottt

According to your engine number CA77E-402.539 the 4 after the CA77E indicates a 1964. I can't find a reference to your frame number in Bill Silver's manual.

Jhaysun

Get a flashlight. Lay on the ground on the left (as if you were sitting on it) of the bike. Look behind (rearwards) the drivers footpeg and the VIN # is stamped on the verical peice of frame. You may have to stare for a minute before you can see it.

Ron

PS...a pic of my babies.

I found it by laying down on the right side with a flash light ( I thought I picked this advice from one of your earlier responses?) If so thanks, and the frame number is 68 numbers from the Engine number. I guess that makes them a match. I had Bill Silver verify that and also that its a 64. The fact that they were 400 series numbers made it more difficult to find out.
