CA 78 vent tubes

Post by olde-goat » Sun Jun 21, 2020 8:24 am

I have a question regarding the three vent tubes on a 65 CA78.; head vent and two located on either side of the carburetor. Originally I thought that the tubes ran from the barbed fittings down and on top of the engine case out towards the back of the engine and dumps outside the frame just in front of the rear tire. After installing the engine I find that there is little clearance between the engine and frame to allow the three tubes to exit outside and terminate in front of the tire. Am I wrong in assuming that this is the way to route the tubes? If incorrect, where do the ends of the tubes terminate? Thank you..

The two that come off the back of the engine cyl. go to the air filter. There are holes in the metal part of the filter to accept the tubing. Not sure of the other one on the head.
