Nope not a single bit of progress on the CL. I have been mostly working on a XS650 chopper.

And when I'm not working on that I'm working on this.

I also ran an ad in the paper and picked up 2 Kawi H1's, an H2, an H2 roller, a KH400, a GT380, and boxes of parts. Still trying to figure out what to do with all that.

On the upside I did get the battery in the CA77 a couple days ago and gave it the once over after winter storage.

A CB or CL cafe is a long term project. I'll gather stuff as I find it and possibly get to it next winter if things go right.

After lunch I'm still at my real job.

I'll get to them all eventually. I got a lot of years left with these bikes.

Hey Kevin,

Nice batch of bikes there. Looks like you like a variety too. I'm jealous. Ha!Ha!

my honda cafe progress

Post by Blackbomber » Thu May 31, 2007 5:35 pm

Two things. I took the easy road, and decided to do a cb350 just like everyone else.
Second, I took a new job, and of course lost my free time, and my machine shop availability in the process. Anyway, here is the pathetic result of probably 15 hours of effort. The frame grinding and rewelding took about 8 hours alone. It's going to be sweet when it's all molded later.

Cafe your CL

Post by Scram64 » Wed Jun 23, 2010 12:26 am

Bill, Scram64 here. Did you ever cafe your Cl with a Ca motor.
I started one last year after finding a excellent motor.
I already had a titled frame so I married them together.
The result is a stressed member CL frame.
The project is still in mock up so I'll send some pics of the frame.

Either one of you guys made any progress on what you are going to do to your CLs yet? I'm getting curious because, if things turn out the way I've planned (my fingers are crossed here), I'll be using a CA77 (that I'm gathering parts to change to a CL) motor in my 67' CL77 roller. No way could I ever make the CL a resto so, I'm looking at building something out of it. Thinking a Cafe but not totally sure. I'm really interested in what you all are talking. It'll be a little bit before I get into mine much, but I'm definitely taking notes guys.
Later on, Bill
