Righto, georGe, typo. Exide still makes this battery, but it takes awhile to get it.

Ace<br /> Mine has the same binding problems. The hotter the motor gets the worse it is. <br />I bought it from the original owner and it was hotrodded in the 60's. A race cam, 350 pistons, and a Yetman frame. He used to take it to the local dragstrip and race. <br /> With all the high stress running the shift forks got twisted and he must have kept forcing the shifter making it worse. <br /> <br />The motor has been sitting on my basement floor for a while but after reading all this I feel some new energy to get working on it again. After the bike on the lift is finished of course!<br />bfd
