CL77 Bobber

Post by CL77butcher » Fri Jan 14, 2011 7:56 am

just figured I'd torture the pureists with the most recent picture of the '68 CL77 bobber project i am working on for a friend.

I have a build thread going on another site if you want to see what it went through to get to this point.

Hey Butcher..
I'm always interested in what others are doing in the stock/custom arena. I'm curious though. Looks like your gonna have 7 feet of chain there, kinda hard to see in the photo. Will there be a tensioning device or something to assist in support of the chain weight? I look forward to seeing the finished product. Whats the other build site you referred to?

Mike,

The rear was streched about 8.5" so the chain is about 16" longer than stock. I will be doing an old school spring loaded scateboard wheel tensioner to keep up the slack.

The other site is chopperweb.net the build thread is called "dusting off the welder" in the "projects and builds" forum.

Hey Butcher,

You will find the purests here will also find appreciation in hard work - regardless of if it runs opposite to their beliefs. I built this bike with the help of some of the most staunch of pureists on here. So, my point is... you are in good company! ;)

Decided against the tensioner for now, maybe later.
