Cylinder/Head studs

Post by ccbb77 » Thu Mar 29, 2012 10:31 pm

Hi guys. Building my 1967 Superhawk 305 engine. Taking it up to 350. Will be beefing up the cylinder/head studs with CB450 twin (earlier engine) studs.

Do any of you have an old CB450 hanging around so i can purchase the studs or does anybody know where I can find an NOS or aftermarket new set?

Thanks,
Enzo

Dear Enzo, Please consider the amount of metal available in the crankcase and also the oil flow restriction you will be introducing to the front outside stud holes. I would leave it all at 8mm instead of the 10mm that you propose All the best Jerry

Thanks Jerry. Will look at that very carefully. I will be reaming the holes a little to allow oil flow. Will let you know how it's coming along.
