C71 lowbars?

So whats the story on these? I like the look but $500 is a bit much even for a rare part.

Very true. Still in the learning stage for sure not only on this bike but on all motorcycles. Before this the bulk of my knowledge is from high hp turbo imports and domestic cars. Still dont think $500 is granted though. I bet I can find it far cheaper with more hunting ;)

So these were also on the c75... Atleast I have a list of them to search for.

Why don't you save yourself a lot of cost and trouble and look for 'bars for a C72 or C77? Much more common and likely cheaper.....

These are really hard to get parts for (lenses, switches, etc.) . Unless you had a something damaged and would reuse the other parts I'm not sure they're even that valuable. I've bought a lot of weird early parts (and bikes) thinking that the super rarity would translate to value, and sometimes it just doesn't. There's virtually no market....

Whats the difference in C72 vs C71? I was not aware that C77 ever got low bar pressed steel. Anyone know where to find a set of either?

The CA72 and CA77 were models for the US market which demanded the high tubular 'bars. C72 and C77 were fitted with flat bars until late 1963, I think when they followed the CA models with high tubular bars. The UK models had indicators on the bars, both flat and high.

Occasionally flat bars come up in the US but you are more likely to find them in Europe or Asia.

The levers and switch gear are tricky to find but, strangely, Ohio Cycle had some switches a couple of months back. The indicators are built into the lever perch. Pretty much like hen's teeth but they can be found....
