Generator Bolt Size??

Post by Dr. Frankenstein » Fri Mar 23, 2018 5:05 am

Anybody know what the size of the bolt is that goes through the spark advance generator into the stator on a 305 Early model...?

A parts bike I just picked up is missing that center bolt, and I need to try to turn the engine over by hand...It should be the same size as the on a 305 Late model, but the manual and parts list don't tell me anything.

Thanks!

-John

Thanks G-Man; I assume that's a 1.5 thread...?

Yes - it looks like Metric coarse.

Man...this thing ain't budging...any ideas without taking the engine out of the frame? I've had the cylinders soaking in a soup of oil, Marvel Mystery Oil, PB Blaster, and whatever the PO said he put in there too...think heat might work?

You can try heat but try and heat evenly and don't melt anything. Is the head off?
