Please help me wire my 1964 Honda Cb77

Post by dwezell1 » Thu Sep 25, 2003 12:09 pm

I'm having lots of trouble replacing the wiring to the handlebar headlight switch for my 1964 Honda Cb77. I have a wiring diagram which shows what wires are supposed to go to the switch, but not how they are all supposed to be connected to each other. My main problem is the 2 wires that come directly from the generator to the headlight switch. Are they both hot wires? Are they supposed to be connected together in some way or kept seperate? Do they both power the headlight or charge the battery?
If someone would explain the roles of each wire on both sides of the headlight switch while the bike is running, and especially how each wire is supposed to connect to the others at each position of the headlight switch (off, low and high beam) I would be very grateful.
William
