No LIghts CL-72 250

Post by L G » Sun Sep 11, 2005 10:44 am

Just bought a 250 Scrambler ,just like the one my Dad had, and its in good shape other than the lights won't work. The brake light works, the tail light works in the third position on the switch, and the horn works. In the headlight bucket I got 12 volts on the black wire and when I turn the light switch either way I get 12 volts on the green wire. Is the green wire not the ground or is it the wire to the meter lights and tail light. I get 12 volts on both the high and low beam, blue and red wires, and my headlight works if touched to the battery. If the green wire is not the ground where does the green wire on the actual headlight itself plug? Just thought , does the bike have to be running to operate the lights? I am soaking the carbs. Any help would be great.

Contact me at <emo@ktc.com and I can send a scan of the wireing for this bike. ...................
