1157 tail lamp LED replacement bulbs

Post by David M. Lyon » Mon Sep 24, 2018 2:14 pm

The new projector type LED tail lamp bulbs work GREAT on the CB and CL 77 's they are just as bright on 9 volts as they are on 12, and all the way up to 30 volts and the best thing about them is they have practically NO drain on the battery. That's a big deal when the magneto on these bikes just barely keep the battery hot to begin with! Even on a small 9 volt transistor battery they are very bright and the the projector style lens lights up the DOT in the center of the lens big time and can be seen very easily even in bright sunlight.

Thanks for sharing, David. The LED taillight bulbs I bought a few years ago were very disappointing. I was too afraid to ride with them since very little light propagated to the sides of the lens. Any particular brand recommendation on the projectors? Or even better, can you post some pictures?
