Still available?
Re: CB77 Engine for sale in Hawaii
Yes, sort of....
Since that post I've disassembled it because the pistons were frozen in the cylinder. My Dream suffered the same problem and I had to destroy one of the pistons to free it up, and I don't want to do that to the CB engine.I have access to a nice hydraulic press and I made a wooden stand that will support the upper case (with the crank) so as to orient the cylinders vertically when pressing. I plan to carefully press the pistons out tomorrow. (Yes, I spent the past two weeks heating the pistons, squirting various potions down the bores, to no effect. Judging from my Dream, the piston rings on these models 'weld' themselves to the bores through electrolysis.
The engine doesn't seem to have many miles on it, as there is no noticeable wear on the countershaft sprocket, and the transmission gears/bearings, clutch, etc. are all in excellent condition. The head has both carbs complete with slides, chokes, heat spacers, etc.
However, I live in Hawaii and shipping will be higher than on the mainland.Do you need the complete engine or just some parts?
