Steve

It's all about patience and a lot of lonely nights away in hotels....... :-)

Brian

A local friend has a drum and some modified standard forks. I'm going to ask him nicely if I can borrow tham to take measurements and compare with standard.

honda brian wrote:Thanks Graham, that's a good photo of the detents and selector stubs. The selectors look standard except for a shortened one. All you might need is a selector drum. Any pictures of the drum without the selector arms installed so I can see the tracks anyone?
Regards Brian.

Very good mate. Can you post some pics of them when you can?
Isn't there a song about hours lost in a hotel room?
Brian.

Thanks to Honda Brian - a Honda 5-speed gear cluster and selector mechanism is on its way to me from Oz.

Brian and friend Richard have got above and beyond the call of duty to prise this out of an Aussie guy who had 'retired' it from his race bike when a tooth had broken.

Still one or two 'issues' to sort out but I seem to be the owner of about 1 ¾ of these gearboxes now.

With the 1961 frame that is coming from e3Steve I am in a position to start building my fully-kitted CYB72 race bike. Might have to finish the 1961 project first, though......

Brian - Too true, but we'll soldier on in our quest to turn all the world's rusty 'dead' bikes back into shiny running ones.... :-)
