Honda CYB 5-speed gearbox parts

Post by G-Man » Thu Aug 24, 2017 4:33 pm

Over the last 3 years I have been slowly collecting parts for a genuine Honda 5-speed gearbox for a forthcoming CYB 72 project. Below are the parts I have and the parts I am missing.

I would be happy to pay for parts or to swap the spare gearbox parts I have or whatever you need.

Here is the layout of gears and the tooth numbers.

Any parts, information or leads gratefully received.......

Randy

Thanks for the interest!. But you never know. I didn't think I'd get this far. I'm going to build the bike next year and if the parts don't turn up by then, I'll have to approach people for parts to borrow for copying.

When I've finished the '61 CB72, I want to do a 1961 CYB bike in matching color. I have 90% of the CYB parts now after a long search. There will be a standard showroom model and a rich-kids race bike with all of the available parts.

To quote a former US President - "We're not doing it because it's easy......."

Still looking down under Graham. There is a race in two weeks time.I'll ask around then.
There is also the first gear option that we talked about. Also are there any other selector options. Wouldn't mind some photos of a drum and selector assembly. Anybody have any?
Regards, Brian.

Sorry Graham, that should be top gear option.
Brian.

Brian

Thanks! I've picked up a 29 tooth gear as mentioned to look at the possibilities of joining the two.

Here's some selector photos.

Thanks Graham, that's a good photo of the detents and selector stubs. The selectors look standard except for a shortened one. All you might need is a selector drum. Any pictures of the drum without the selector arms installed so I can see the tracks anyone?
Regards Brian.
