Source for new Tappet/Valve covers?

Post by RobCL72 » Sun Jul 01, 2018 9:34 pm

The 4 on my CL72 are quited mangled. Is there a source for new that anybody is aware of? Did Honda use the same covers for a number of different bikes? It seems that would be the case.

I see these: https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Honda-Va ... B077Y219PY

These aftermarket: >> https://www.dimecitycycles.com/j-webste ... dized.html

These too, but nothing listed for CL72: >> https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Honda- ... 2361804870

My Honda parts list manual lists part # CB721214/Cap, Cylinder Head.

Thanks! - Rob

Disco Volante Moto in the UK has some very nice pieces machined from billet. Seems to be a hardened T6 type aluminum to resisting galling in the head, and the hex is a bit taller than standard for better wrench/socket engagement. Available in both the tapered and domed configurations. Regards, Chase

Thanks!

They list them for CA72/77. But I believe that they are the same part for my bike, which although is a CL72, has a CL77 top end.

Anyway, thanks for the reply, and I've sent them an email.

Tappet covers.

Since all of the C, CA, CB and CL 72 and 77 engines use basically the same castings, the tappet covers are completely interchangeable and any of them will fit all the models above.

Design (shapes) varied over the years but all will fit your bke.
