Petcock screws...?

Post by Bradha562 » Mon Nov 11, 2013 12:03 pm

The screws holding the petcock to the original tank were heavily rusted so I ended up drilling them out. In the parts manual I purchased from Mr. Honda the fuel tank diagram shows the part number as 93500-06025, so I found some on ebay and bought them. They don't fit the newer tank. Did I order the right screws?

da screws

I would run a tap through the old holes you drilled out. Be sure to use a 25 pitch tap.That being said were the new screws you got to large , To small or wrong pitch?

Search is my friend...

Post by Bradha562 » Wed Nov 13, 2013 12:57 pm

I searched this forum for 'petcock screws' and found that this is an known issue. I'll be calling Ohio Cycle today to get the correct screws. It just sucks that the information I purchased from Mr. Honda was wrong and it appears that came from Honda.

Now I'm leary about buying anything without doing some research first. I just figured, screws are screws. I guess I was wrong... because Honda was wrong. So there goes a few bucks wasted that I'll have to chalk up as a learning experience. Trying to spend as little as possible to get her up and running to assess if the engine needs major work. Fingers crossed.

Ok, rant finished! On to the next thing:
Can someone tell me what this wire connects to?

It's a green wire but it has a black sleeve over it and in this picture you can see it towards the end that was cut it has a larger black cover;

Thank you for the responses! Hope to post some real progress soon!!!

Thanks Brewsky! I was having a hard time determining where it came from. Here is a snapshot of a video I took that shows where the wire was when it was cut;
