Looks good Byrd! Where are the peashooters? I always hankered after a 750 Commando, way back when.... The best I could manage -- after I swapped my CB77 for a CA95 -- was a Triumph 5TA Speed Twin and then a BSA A7 Shooting Star.

I have to say, though, my current CB is irreplaceable. There goes the ol' OCD again! I would augment my biking pleasures with a CB450BB though.

Good luck, mate!

Byrdman

Love that 1971 UK tax disk.

My Uncle had a 1971 Fastback. We had a very memorable 14-day tour around Europe on it.

I forgot to mention the tax disc, G! And that bike lift is making me envious.

I spot a Repsol sticker; I thought they were reserved for Spain!

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I'm with you , I just love old bikes regardless of the make or model. Sounds like you all have had some really nice ones to throw a leg over.

The bike was originally owned by a US soldier stationed in the UK. Before he left he purchased the Norton and brought it back with him. The tax stamp is pretty rare since it has NIL which I believe means he never intended to ride it in the UK. I purchased it from his son, which had fortunately only removed the mufflers and foot pegs from the bike. Pea shooters will be re-installed, but it came with original Dunstall Decibels that I have put up to use as decoration somewhere around the house!

Here is a link to all that I have done so far - hopefully it will be ready by spring...

I like how your bike turned out! Nice, clean, simple and cafe'd. I have the same vision for mine. Did you extend your headpipes? The mufflers are only 17" long. My Dunstall replicas are 27" long. I hope to have them end near the rear axle so I can use a rear stand. Also, how come the ignition switch is on the right side? Was that a feature of later models? Mine is on the left. What size rims did you use to fit the wider tires? Good job!

thanks eyhonda. for the pipes i have an extension tube running in between the headpipes and the 17" reverse megs. some kind of nice steel tubing, you might want to ask davo what the exact material is since he took the rest of extra material i had! the ignition switch i moved to the right side after i shaved everything off of my frame. the front rim is a excel wm2 and the rear is a wm3. i dont know if i have given a shout out to davomoto yet but i couldnt have built this thing without him ( got alot of good help from the people on this board as well) davo rebuilt the engine from the ground up and laced the rims for me. he also put up with me calling him every second that i had a question and i had a shitload of questions due to this was my first build. eyhonda your bike is coming along nicely! keep up the good work.
