Harness reconnected in the headlight (what a nightmare)
Why ?
assembly of Japanese motorcycles requires great peace of mind (Pirsig)

First, I forgot the headlight it's self must be an aftermarket. It's wires didn't match the harness wires. I had trouble figuring it out. Next, the markings on the masking tape labels I used got smudged and dirty......I couldn't read the matching numbers. Lastly the wires them selves were very dirty and made it difficult to read the colors. The whole thing wasn't impossible, just difficult. Maybe I should drop the battery in and see if it all works.

The next major task is to get the tank ready for paint. The PO filled in the badge depressions with bondo. Luckily the badge tabs are still there. There may be some small dents that I may have to refill. Planning on painting all the parts in the next few weeks. Cheers.

A quick photo update. Had to remove the front wheel....working on the fender. But was able to get the rear fender and tail light on. Rear brakes connected. Shifter on. New chain. Stator side engine cover on.

Getting closer. Finally received some special jis screws for the front fender and was able to mount it. That allowed me to put on the front wheel. Hooked up the odometer and connected and adjusted the brakes. Pipes went on. For the purists you'll notice a few items painted that should not be. Things like the kick starter, brake lever, shifter and fender bracket. This it because they were VERY rusty and flaking the chrome plating. Over the winter I'll get them and the pipes and shields rechromed. In the next few days I'll install the foot peg/kickstand assembly and get it back on its feet.

The tank that came with the bike and another from a parts bike I had were just in too bad a shape to use. This one I bought off EBay. The PO filled in the badge pockets with bondo. Luckily the tabs were still there. I'm in the process of cleaning the inside. Once that's under control I'll get rid of all the bondo, fill in a few small dents, paint, clear, install and ride.
