Whilst preparing bits for blasting, I found a couple of white stickers on the rear mudguard (fender),
I wet it thinking it was paper, but no, it didn't shift, soaked them in thinners, & as they 'softened' I scraped them with a scalpel, there were several layers & the first revealed some sort of parking-permit??
Looking at them I get the impression that they are renewed annually as there appeared more than one.
It looks like my latest project may have come from Colorado, no wonder there's no rust!!

Did you preserve those stickers? It's always nice to see the history. G

Sadly no,
I would have LOVED to & I even planned to encapsulate them to keep with the bike. The top & side ones were totally white due to the print being sun-bleached away. They were rock-hard due to uv exposure, & 'chipped' as I tried to remove them, the heat gun simply shrivelled them & they still wouldn't lift, finally cellulose thinners softened them enough to get a scalpel under, but the vinyl ( or whatever it was ) fragmented as it was lifted. So it was only apparent after this top layer was removed that I realised there was maybe 5 or 6, the one I revealed was 1970, so the top I assume to be '71, I could just make out '69 under that & one more under that, '68?? Also 2 or 3 on the side, so they might have been 72 to 3-4?? OR before going back to new, 66 to 68!! I'd love to know that's for sure. GSX1400 Red/silver
