Found a 305 superhawk in the back of a gentlemens garage.
This one does not have electric start. Have not seen one w/o starter.
Is this another model or specifc tothe year. No title hs surfaced at this point, but he thinks its
a 1964. I thought all had electric start.
Appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks again.

Looks like someone removed it or fitted the engine from a CL.

What's your engine number.

Frame # CB77-105178
Motor # CB77E-1051104
Gentleman not sure of year and cannot locate the title. Said he bought it new(?)

Not sure of year and why it is without electric start. Does not look like anything removed. So your thoughts may be right regarding engine change.
Any help with year and why is greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your responses.

Easy enough to remove the starter and put a plate over the resulting hole at the front of the engine. Scramblers - CL77 - were delivered with no starter and a blanking plate.

Removal may have just been a whim, like chopping fenders.

The year of yours is probably 65-66 but I am not an expert on the later bikes. Before 64 the first digit of engine & frame number was the year.

Your engine & frame numbers are close enough to have been together at the factory.
