Old Honda Part Numbers

Post by Hahnda » Sat Apr 02, 2011 9:47 am

Is anyone familiar with the part numbering system for old honda parts? These don't have the normal 3 part Honda number. Obviously they are for a C200 but I was hoping to understand the numbering system. Thanks

Pic #1 shows a "CASE ELEMENT" which crosses to 17213-030-000
Pic #2 shows a "VALVE INLET" which crosses to 14711-030-000
Ya need the HONDA NPS CROSS REFERENCE TABLE to cross the numbers from the very first numbering system to today's. .......lm

It might take some studying to get it figured out. the center code is easy enough but the first 5 numbers seem a bit difficult to figure out.

OK I'm stuck. I can figure out the function part of the number and the center product number but I'm having a problem with the 3 digit component number.

I assume I'm using the cross reference that you are talking about?

I wasn't able to access the info ya sent.
Could be it is the same for all the parts that do the same application on the bike/engine along with other numbers to identify the bike/engine and the issue of that part. ............lm
