HT,
I was able to locate a halfway decent used shifter shaft for my CL-77 on E-Bay. As I am sure you know, the issue with this part is finding a used one where the splines are not all chewed-up. In fact, the condition of the splines on the bike when I bought it were nonexistent! Previous owner clamped on vise grips to the stub to get it to shift! Needless to say, bike has seen a lot of hard use.

Yes, it is a crapshoot if you don't have detailed photos to check the condition of the splines. If the seller won't provide good photos I won't buy the part.
