billet tappet covers

Post by nc_rider » Mon Nov 15, 2010 1:35 pm

I picked up some billet tappet covers off eBay from a seller in South Africa kind of on a whim and was surprised at how nice they are. Take a look at the photo below. According to him they are made of 6082 T6 Alloy. Looking back through his eBay history it looks like these typically sell for around $35/4 plus $18 shipping to the US. .. $13.25 each including shipping.

If you aren't restoring for show then this might be an option for you, and will give the dwindling supply of OEM tappet covers to those who really need the originals..

Here's his web site: http://ttr400.com/
His ebay username is TTR400

I have no affiliation with him, etc.. just letting people know of a good find.

(I have a CA77 and a CB77.. that's why there's two different types in the photo..)

thanks. I may go this route as the previous owner rounded my caps quite a bit, probably from removing while HOT

I too have bought these for my customs, and was very happy with the fit and finish. I have 20-30 stockers that have had vice grips, wrong size wrenches, etc used on the over the years, and they are unuasble in my book.
