CA77 exhaust pipes by otto-classicbike

Post by Hondac71 » Sun Apr 29, 2012 3:09 am

Has anyone bought these and how is the quality?
I'm searching for a set for a 1961 C77 and these came up, so i'm wondering if anyone has any experience with these pipes?

These ones? These are the only ones I saw on the otto-classicbike store on ebay. I am wondering this myself because I have a set of these and am unsure of the quality as of yet. They certainly look nice.

I have used these before. They fit well and they look good on the machine but the chrome is not the best and could be much better.

What was the total cost with overseas shipping? I need a set for a 63 and am looking at all options. Not ready for the $1000 originals yet!

these are the same pipes that Tom Day used to sell, made in Thailand. He came to me when he first got them and fitted them to my very original 63 ca77 to test the fit. they fit very well but do not use the forward mounts. they are what they are. they are very loud. yes the chrome/welding is poor. you get what you pay for. good repops are available for about $1000.
Good luck

I've had mine on for about 4 years now and they are holding up ok.

Mine were not loud at all and I even opened up the welded-in baffles a little.

They are the only ones that mimic the original shape (somewhat) I could find except the expensive re-pops.

The fit and finish are rider, not show, quality.

Here's a sound clip of them on my dream AFTER opening up the baffles:
