1972 Re-Build for any CB750 Fans
haha, yeah, its good. I pulled it out sideways myself, but when i put it back in, i laid the engine on its side with 2x4's under the jug, then myself and my kids, picked up the frame and set it in that way, much easier :) rode to work this morning, running good so far. 65 Sears Puch 250 69 Dream 305 74 Kawi H1 78 CB750 SS Great thread.
I just bought a 1972 and I think it is a K2. Spare engine and tons of parts. The side cover and tank badges are gone and the holes filled in. Runs really well after some seafoam. Did you tape the stripe on the tank or buy decals. I love the paint job but am afraid to tackle mine. Did you just paint and let it dry or did you bake it at all. What is the rattle can color and brand you used. It looks great. I was thinking about replacing the voltage regulator in an attempt to support a radar detector. How does yours charge. Thanks for the motivation. This bike was bought as an after thought and is becoming a favorite. I am getting it ready for a road trip in May. George Arizona
I bought Decals, but i have 4 sets and am willing to sell each set for $20. They are usually $40 on ebay and Z1 enterprises. The rattle can is call Duplicolor "metal specs" copper. You can get at any auto store or Meijer. I used Spray Max 2000 for the clear coat. I sanded, Primer with a white or silver base, lightly sand, then 2 coats of metal specs, wet sanding between coats. then 3 clear coats. my bike charges but i havnt checked how well. good luck, let me know if you need help.
