Two projects for my sons. Canadian Military

Post by 4shorts » Wed Oct 18, 2006 12:27 pm

Hi everyone. Here's something a little different to view. As a hobby I restore gas pumps, Coca Cola items along with just about anything else that looks worth restoring. Well I have two sons and both of them are in the Canadian Armed Forces. One is in the Army and the other is in the Navy and is on the HMCS Halifax war ship. I wanted to do a few projects for them that they could keep as they advanced in there trades so I found a 1950's pedal jeep that I restored for my Army son and a rare 1966 Pedal boat with custom trailer I built for my Navy son. Each vehicle features my son's picture, rank, custom Canada license plate with there date of birth on it and all related logo's. Have a look. There is before and after pics. Hope you like them. Paul

That is excellent craftmanship on your part as well as a great tribute to your sons. Thanks for sharing and also pass on my thanks to your sons for serving!

Incredible craftsmanship! Obviously a labor of love and parental pride. I am sure your sons are just as proud of you!

It is such a treat to see work of this caliber (no pun intended). I wish more things were done in this manner - for the love of doing it - in this world.

Guys I really appreciate your kinds words about the Jeep and Boat. My boys loved the idea and really enjoyed seeing each piece in person when they returned home for leave. As for the next project well that's going to be a strange one if it falls into place. A customer of ours is considering purchasing a Helicopter kit and wants me to build and paint it. They estimate the job will take about 550 hours. It should be interesting for sure.

Here's a few other things I've done in the last few years and have added to my collection. Thanks again for your kind words and I'll pass them along to my sons. God bless all our troops and bring them home safe! Paul

PS. After Sept.11, 2001 I wanted to do something special to remember that awful day. The first pics show some of it.

Paul,
That is amazing work. That is so awesome that you dedicated your time to acknowledge and remember the people who suffered on that horrific day in New York. God bless your sons for serving. I was in New York in the Twin Towers two months before 9/11 on the 4th of July. Thanks Paul for your hard work and dedication.
