1972 Re-Build for any CB750 Fans
1972 Re-Build for any CB750 FansI picked up a K2 Cb750 (1972) a few months ago for $250 and a parts bike and about 6-7 boxes of parts for $260. And decided to do a semi restore, meaning tear it all the way down except the running engine, powdercoat, clean and polish a little but for as little cost as possible and make a nice clean daily rider.
So far i have $1200 out of pocket and have yet to sell off the remaining parts including some "Sandcast" parts (meaning 1969-70 CB750 parts that are kind of high priced). So far I have it mostly back together and working on wiring up the hub. Things left to do are: Run the right switch wiring through the bars body work on the tank and paint it and the side covers paint and install the tank emplems and double check everything Im going with the Candy Gold i think Before pic Tearing it down with my Master Mechanic frame powder coat Wheel tear down and relace new spokes, new bearings Goin back together Ahh new tires Gotta love wiring thanks for looking

Looking good and you did get a deal!
I have had a K8 for about 15 years and love it. There are some others on this forum also. http://www.honda305.com/forums/viewtopi ... sc&start=0 And Candy Gold was the best color. More pics as you progress.... 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
Thanks!! Candy Gold is what im thinking, but im prob going to rattle can it myself. Found a good paint thats close and i have some Spray Max 2000 polyuri for a clear, i think i can do it justice we'll see. I just dont have $500 on this budget build to throw at someone to pro paint it. But yes i like the Candy Gold with the black stripes. idea thanks steve 65 Sears Puch 250 69 Dream 305 74 Kawi H1 78 CB750 SS Steve,
Great looking bike. I finished my 72' K2 back in the fall. It was a $700 find that the PO lost intrest in after doin all hard stuff. He had rebuit the engine, fixed the cracked side covers, and located a bunch of the hard to find parts,He probably gave up when he could'nt get the carbs to stop leakin. I finished up the paint work and bits and pieces. Right now I'm into it a little less than $1500 including tires, tubes, paint, stripes, 2 seat covers (first one didnt fit), seat foam, carb kits, petcock, battery, and registration. I had a gold one a few years ago that I have regretted selling. I really loved the color but I wanted somethin a little different so I went with the 69/70 Candy blue green and a 69/70 duck tail seat. I've put around a hundred miles on it since finishing it up and it's gonna be my daily ride this spring if I don't get a wild hair to sell it. FWIW My $15K 01' Electra-Glides been sittin in the basement with a dead battery for over a year. There aint nothin sounds or rides like an early 750. Mark
awesome bike, def give me motivation to keep going.
I finished up the wiring except the front brake switch and all tested out fine with no smoking wires :P Ill soon be firing it up again to check for leaks and then ill be painting the tank and side covers. I should definitely be done by the end of feb if not sooner. it aint purdy but its working 65 Sears Puch 250 69 Dream 305 74 Kawi H1 78 CB750 SS
