I'm also ...

Because I can't sleep:

I'm restoring a vintage musical instrument related to the accordion called a Bandoneon. It's used primarily in Argentine Tango music. And yes I'm trying to teach myself how to play it ... it's miserable. It's a vintage instrument (1927-1932), in superb condition and quite rare. Cost: $700. Value: $3000-$4000. I fab. most parts, others are available in Europe, and I need to send it to Belgium to have it tuned ... when I can afford it.
http://goulston.net/bandoneon (yes that's me).

I'm also restoring (halfheartedly) a 1923 Silver Conn Alto saxophone given to me by my Dad when he was alive. He played it in big-bands. Source unknown. Yes ... I do know how to play this instrument.

My dream garage:
1. My CB77
2. 1970's CB-450
3. CB-750 K-anything
4. 1972 Kawi H2 (750) blue or purple, I already have the motor but it's in pieces.
5. 1975-ish Black Norton Commando 850 (had 1, did a partial resto, sold it when times were tight ... sigh)
6. Early Gold Wing with Vetter Windjammer fairing and matching bags
7. Ariel square-4
8. Vincent Black Shadow (I can dream can't I)
9. A 'busa ... just because they have that "pucker factor"
10. Jay Leno's turbine bike (I actually chatted with him on the phone asking him if I could race it at Bonneville Speed Week ... he said his wife wouldn't like that). Drat.
11. And of course my Salt Flats racer:
http://www.bndracing.com (yes, that is also me getting ready to make a speed pass at El Mirage Dry Lakes bed in Socal. 1980 Suzuki GS-450S (513cc).

Hey Dana -

Thats really cool about the instrument...
Ive got a soft spot for ariels as well - mine would be the red hunter though.
Thats cool - what do you ride out to speed week @ bonnie? I am considering making a cross country run to appear this year. Will you be there?

Hiya Sascha,

I'm retired from LS racing. It got way too expensive for what you get back. So I'm selling my racer.

Unfortunately I won't be back at Bonneville for a few years ... maybe if I get the itch again and build a different bike.

Enjoy!
