CB160 need help identifying year

Post by Nomad » Tue Mar 16, 2010 6:43 pm

CB 160 year unknown

Frame is stamped B160 1010497
engine B160E 1010465

I can't find much info about the CB that is helpful , some sites say they were made from 1965-67 and another says 68-69 apparently it was the 10497th one made ,
it has chrome fork covers not the color matched ???

Anyone near Green Bay WI interested in buying a frame ? no title have other parts too.!

68/69 was the year of the CL175 sloper with 5 speed trans and one year only crankcases and head.

It is entirely possible that the CB 160 continued until it was replaced by the CB175K3 in June '69. I cannot find a record of a CB175 in K0 or K1 version, but all that proves is that I don't have any information.

I think that one is a 64 production for 65, judging by the ones we have handled over the years. They were released in July 64.

I'm sure there will be an expert along sometime soon to let me know where I goofed.

My CB160- 1036241 by the harness tag is a 65' . I'd say 64' would be bout right.
64' CB77
65' CB160
