what is a cb160 worth?

Post by greg78gs750 » Sat Mar 20, 2010 3:21 pm

hi guys,

i went and looked at a cb 160 barn bike down the road from me. engine turns over, supposedly with compression. both carbs are there. original seat and tank with original badges that is reasonably clean inside. plenty of stuff missing, side covers, etc, fenders have been painted. no title. any idea what this might be worth? i am getting pretty familiar with the dreams, but i have no idea about these little cb's. thanks for any input, guys!

Gre,
I'd take a wild guess and say $200 to $300 as described, depending on how long the list of missing pieces is. But then, I like CB160s.

How are the mufflers? A nice set are worth $200 alone. The tank badges could go for up to $100 if they are real good too.

I paid $200 for a non runner, missing the side covers with rusted everything.

They are worth more in the northwest and new england as there is an active racing community with a 160 class.

The other hard to find parts (in decent condition) are the front fender, seat and side covers.

Boy those front fenders are pricy. Mine is rusted and bent, but since I am not doing a restoration I may just use a chrome one until I turn the bike into a vintage road racer.

Some one that needs sidecovers should keep in mind the CL right side cover does NOT fit a CB, but the left does.

You can have a beat up one bumped and painted for about the cost of a mint one. It would look better (paint wise) if you don't mind it not being original.
