Idiot with no oil filter cap

Post by Jlovvorn » Sun Feb 24, 2013 3:42 pm

I destroyed my oil rotor cap trying to get it off. In my defense, this thing has not been opened in decades, and the POs clearly never cleaned it.

Can't find a replacement anywhere.

I could use a new rotor and cap, but the cap is the part that is unobtainable.

Honda part number 15450-216-000.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated. My 160 project is dead if I can't find one.

Same as the CB175 and CB200? The cranks are pretty much the same.....

oil rotor cap removal

Post by bikedoctor99 » Sun Feb 24, 2013 5:08 pm

Worse things have been done with rotory filters, i've done them-------
anyway, the simplest way to remove a stuck cap is to screw a 6x1.25 bolt into the cap & it it will "push" the cover off- easy as that!

I would check out Ohio Cycle or Western Hills Honda for a replacement.

That is indeed what I attempted and when it didn't work I got a little too aggressive with this. I will try WHH. No luck looking for 175 or 200 either. Thanks for the leads!

Your the man as always G-Man. Found a cl175 rotor and cap on eBay, then checked the parts chart and its the same part number as my cb160. Back in business! Thanks all.
