honda 150 help --- oil?

i gotta do gaskets on my 150 dream, just got it, for the time being, before i get em, the one side cover is leakin, what kinda oil would you guys recomend??? i really dont want another day like today (just got it last night, driving, didnt check oil first, notice it wont really rev, started bogging, new it was overheating, almost NO oil in her!!! ARGH!!).... ive heard 15w40... someone else said 30w30... what do you guys think?

51ratt, Congrats on your purchase! Very cool! Did you get an owners manual with it? That would say about the oil. I don't have any idea about the oil capacity in your 150 but my CB77 (305) takes slightly less than 2 quarts. I use 10-40. On the colour, why not black with red rims and white walls? saw a H-D that way (a bobber) it looked cool. Good Luck, Steve Greer

I have a 150 owners guide at home. I will check out what kind of oil and the capacity when I get home tonight.

The book recommends...<br />SAE 10W below 32F<br />SAE 20W between 59 and 32 degrees F<br />SAE 30 above 59F<br /><br />Although you could probably use a 10W-30 I would use a good 30W for the summer and because it only holds 1.2 quarts I would find a GOOD quality oil....I might even check with the Honda dealer and see if they still carry Honda Ultra Oil which is what the book recommends.<br /><br />Ron
