CA77 kickstarter rubber replacement

Post by jnbmoore » Mon Oct 29, 2018 5:19 pm

Has anyone done one of these replacements recently? I've tried twice already warming up the rubber using hot water and applying dish soap as a lubricant. The rubbers split when the big knob on the end of the kickstarter arm is being pushed through. I hate to ruin another one. Anyone have any secrets on how to do this successfully?

Sounds to me as if the rubber you have is the wrong one, is it aftermarket or O.E.M.?

Some are actual rubber which I fancy would stretch more that the 'plastic' ones I've also seen.

Either way I'd have a word with whoever supplied it.
