HEY GUYS! I OWN A 1966 CA77 DREAM AND WAS WONDERING IF IT WAS NECESSARY TO ADD A LEAD ADDITVE TO FUEL SINCE THESE ENGINES WERE ENGINEERED DURING THE LEADED GAS ERA OF THE SIXTIES? SOMEONE SAID THAT IT WOULD HELP WITH THE LUBRICATION OF THE VALVES. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

Use the gas supplied today. I don't use any lead substatute. .............lm

I use gas supplied today too, like LOUD MOUSE.
I don't know if will help with the lubrification of the valves or keep the carburators preserved.
My bike runs well with the gas supplied today.
If anyone knows the answer i woul like to know too.

I keep a standard mix for all my old bikes, brit and asian. the mix is made up of 93 oct gas, lead additive, stabil, and 50:1 2 stroke oil.
Works great on all bikes. the 2 stroke oils now days don't smoke so the oil keeps the carbs, pipes, and tank coated just enough to help prevent rusting etc. Keeps the carb slides free as well. I have several classic bikes and they all don't get run but maybe once a month so it really helps ot keep things working well. That and I always drain the carbs after I run the bikes to keep things form gumming up. I just don't have problems any more since I've started this routine years ago.

I never would have thought to use 2-stroke in a 4-stroke's fuel. Have you put a lot of miles on your bikes with this regimen?
