Radio Shack Rectifier
Radio Shack RectifierDoes anybody have a photo of the Radio Shack rectifier set-up/wiring diagram for a 1964 CA77?
At $3.29 per, it might be worth looking into... -John
Very interesting article; thanks guys... Now I just have to understand it! :)
Does anybody have a photo of the set-up on a bike, and are all these instructions generic, or bike-specific? Something simple, like 'The blue wire goes here, the yellow wire goes here, and after you get it all set up 'like this', this is what it will do, these are the readings you will get, and this is why this is good"...would be good, too... Hey, it took me 3 years to get out of Algebra II, and I moved halfway through Geometry...and That was 30 years ago! To me, it's kind of like saying, "An airplane flies because of the Bernoulli principle, which creates lift by lowering the pressure of the air across the top of the wing versus increasing the air pressure and flow under the wing at "X" velocity based against a "C" Rate Of Climb juxtaposed with energy "E" on Given Day "D" versus "T"..." vs. "An airplane flies because it has a motor that creates wind that lifts its wings and pulls it through the air'. I thought the part about the heat-sink was well-advised, though...I didn't know it needed one...but yeah, a simple pic of the set-up and it's connections would be great... -John Check the diagram and pics in this post:
The rectifier is marked +, -, and 2 curlyq's (ac current symbols) + to battery - to ground curlyq's...one to brown, other to yellow http://www.honda305.com/forums/viewtopi ... sc&start=0 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
Yep, robbed it out of an old PC. I believe Radio Shack has various heat sinks also if you don't want to tear stuff apart trying to find one.
I don't know that it is mandatory if you mount it securely to bare metal, but good insurance. Oregon Motorcycle has replacement modern rectifiers that match the original look if you want here: http://www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com/rectifiers.html I haven't had any problem with my Radio Shack model however, and looks doesn't really matter to me since it is hidden anyway. 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
