Hi,
On the Honda twins site (hondatwins.net) is a similar thread going on, fun.
Take a look here and read on.

For the home plating specialist
Rob, here's a set of powder coated rims and spokes that I laced up this morning. I highly do not recommend powder coating the nipples, as there was powder coating in the threads, and it took a lot of time and effort to clean them out. It also made the od too large on a bunch of the nipples, and was tough to get the spoke wrench on them. No they aren't for a 305, they are for a CRF150R. They are done in the same colors as my friend's road race team's wheels.

Davo, you dirty bum
Damn you, Davo. During a weak moment yesterday, your posts gave me the incentive to strip my wheels and take the rims for powder coating. So now I have to clean all my nipples, clean and plate my spokes and then lace up the two powder coated rims when I get them back.davomoto wrote:Rob, Honda used zinc to plate thier spokes, and yes erring on the side of caution is always best!
