CL77 Ignition switch retainer latch (plastic covered nut)

I am in need of part number 17251-273-010 which is the retainer nut for the right side cover on the CL77. I have the ignition switch and switch retainer. Anybody have one to sell? Send me a PM if so. Thanks

My experience is the plastic nuts crack due to creep over time. You are probably better off with something like this.

I have a brass knurled nut on mine that I nickel plated. I use a rubber gasket behind it to keep it in place and protect the paint.

The nut that holds the lower tree though the steering head (not the top nut) is the same size and thread as the ignition. That's what I used. Might be easier to find one of those.

May we have the frame number of the bike as the CL77 had a change in the size and thread of the part. .................lm

Resurrecting this thread after a site search because I have a similar issue:

Frame number: CL7710541xx

I have an ignition switch main retainer 35141-273-000
and
A right air cleaner cover latch/ignition switch trim ring screw 17251-273-010

There's a mismatch, because the trim ring screw does not thread on to the switch retainer. Looks like different thread pitches (?).

One or both parts are incorrect for this frame number. Does anyone have advice on the correct parts/numbers required?

I must have an older parts book, because it shows both parts I have as being correct.
