Here's a shot showing the measurement of a CA (PW22) Main Jet Holder for reference:
Since I don't have a PW26 carb to compare.....

Interesting that IF you measure the PW22 float height (26.5mm) from the carb body recess (not gasket surface)....as Steve's float gauge shows, the float lines up with the main jet holder (jet removed), as with LM's method for PW26's.

COINCIDENCE? Or does this mean the height should be measured from the recess, rather than the gasket surface?

I see the gauge you fabricated is measuring from the notch in the bowl while my CL77 manual shows measuring from the top of the bowl 26.5mm. Now I'm not clear on where to measure, any help? Also does anyone know the size on the bolts that hold the petcock to the tank of a CL77? I left the bolts in the tank when I sent it out for painting they lost them.

One more item. One of the fuel outlets on my petcock fell out and I am wondering how to get it to stay in? I was thinking just a little bit of JB Weld would do the trick. Either that or trying to expand the base of the outlet tube.

Not bolts just 6mm screws and fiber washers to seal at the valve body..
Put it in the hole and hit it with a hammer to drive it to the bottom. ......lm
