HERE'S ANOTHER ENGINE STAND

Post by jcspc » Wed Apr 15, 2009 7:22 pm

I've had this for years and of course had a couple of engines on it. NOT SIMULTANEOUSLY! But there it was in the corner of my garage and I had to tear my 305 down. I hate working on benches with 2X4 blocks trying to keep it from falling over. So....
It has worked great. Very mobile, it tilts so you can pull the side case off without spilling the leftover oil on the floor and it's waist high. So here ya go...

hay JC, that is a great idea and I was just going to tear apart my 305 on a bench and I have a stand in a back shed I've had for 10 years. I was going to buy one of those metal work benches; just never thought of using the stand, the eye bolts are what make it work. So the motor mounts are tough enough to turn the engine side-ways without the top head mount attached like it would be in the bike? Thanks for the tip.

You betcha. I used the eye bolt thru the stand bracket and 3/8 allthread to send thru the eyebolts and the motor mount holes on the engine, both top and bottom mounts. It worked out well and the engine will rotate 360 degrees no problem.
