I've been a lurker on the forums for years, but I finally found a superhawk near me to restore and ride. The bike is rideable and is mostly complete, a good base for a resto. The bike is titled as a 1967, but I would like to make sure. The front fender maybe a late fender and someone fashioned extensions to make it work. Motor and trans are good. Great compression and leakdown test, trans shift smooth, only thing is I can hear a little cam chain noise. One more ride before I tear into it for the winter.ImageImageImageImage[/img]

Hey looks pretty good. Yeah that front fender does look a little funny. I wonder what's with those extensions.

So what are you looking to do as far as a resto goes? Just cosmetics?

Nice bike and should make for a quick and easy winter project.

Nice looking bike. The frame # says it's a 63'. When I first looked at the front tire it looks oversize but on second look it seems normal. At one time a 19 inch front wheel may have been installed hence the extensions, just a guess. Good luck, Cliff

I think the fender is for a different year SuperHawk -- they did in fact change the length of the struts from the 'early' ones to the 'late' ones. Judging by the fact that you have the earlier front end, I think you're right in that the fender is for a later front end. I made the mistake myself of purchasing a beautiful NOS fender a couple of years ago off eBay, only to find out that it was not for my year (1966) of SuperHawk. I suppose if you wanted it 'right', you could sell that one and buy the proper fitting fender.

Cool bike, welcome burnite2, I think I can see the late gauge, how's the engine #? I have engine #316455 but no matching frame.

I`m just going to do a cosmetic resto, with replacing some of the leaking gaskets on the motor, fork seals, and some other odds and ends.
Here are the frame and motor numbers.
I dont know if its really a 67. The bike has a late speedo, steel fork sliders, and early seat.
Makes me thinks someone just cobbled it back to together to ride.
