1967 cl77 FLOAT BOWELS.

Post by redryder67 » Sun Jan 27, 2019 10:36 pm

I took off float bowels and cleaned them out. When I replaced them the leaked like crazy. The seals are OK but gas is pouring out of area of contact, float bowel to carb. I noticed the bowels are numbered 2-1 and 2-2 on the inside. Are they not interchangeable left to rt? If so which is which? The manual doesn't say they are different, thanks.

No difference left to right on the bowls, however if you swapped them and the gaskets are not pliable, that could cause the leak, as there could be slight variation in the lip surface between the two. New gaskets might solve it. Nitrite material worked best for me. Other material had issues with ethanol gas.
